A Letter to Say Good Luck, Not Goodbye

Roller Derby Skater Lumiknoxity

First and foremost I want you to all know that each and every one of you had made a tremendous impact on my life.  And this is by far the hardest decision I have ever had to make.

Skating has been part of my life for about seven years, and it’s only within the last three that I have fallen head over heels with it.  With everything, the whole idea of skating, the teamwork, the speed, the endurance, the atmosphere, how can we forget the god forsaken smells and most importantly, amazing and inspirational women.

You all have taught me so much both on and off the track.  On the track, I learned the importance of Teamwork, and there is NO I in team.  I learned sportswomanship, which I am still working on.  Lol and to never stop moving your feet…skate, skate, skate.  As for off the track, I have been priviledged and inspired by all of you.  You taught me life lessons of acceptance and the importance of diversity, those just naming a few.

You all have helped to shape me into a stronger well-rounded, maturing young woman who has learned to stand up for my beliefs and to be accepting of others.  Which is something I am extremely grateful for.

I am truly honored to have been a part of something so amazing and liberating.  This letters isn’t a goodbye, it’s a good luck and kick some serious ass until I am able to come back and skate with all of you wonderful, pretty, betches.

Always yours,

LuLu <3
